About Joe

Joe Jarvis is an attorney passionate about helping small businesses. Since 2013 he has operated a boutique law practice focused on small businesses and business transactions near Lawrence, Kan.

Before founding his practice, he worked as a corporate finance and securities attorney with AmLaw 100 law firm Polsinelli PC in Kansas City, Mo.

Jarvis’s experience includes work with limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships, and other entities; purchase and sale of businesses; contract drafting and review; commercial lease agreement review; private financing, including private loans and private securities offerings; employment and independent contractor agreements; corporate and board governance; and trademarks and intellectual property licensing.

Jarvis co-authored H.B. 2398, a Kansas Bar Association–sponsored bill enacted in 2014, which was a major revision to the Kansas Revised Limited Liability Company Act (KRLLCA).

Before becoming an attorney, Jarvis had government and political experience working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, a successful U.S. congressional campaign, the office of the State of Kansas’s lieutenant governor, and the office of the City of Lawrence’s city manager.
